Supporting victims of modern slavery in the Criminal Justice System
Notice Description
The Home Office is seeking to award grant funding to relevant law enforcement agencies to fund measures to support adult victims of modern slavery in engaging with the Criminal Justice System (CJS). The purpose of the grant is to identify and fill gaps in support and to test the effectiveness of a number of different support measures. The funding will contribute to the Government objective of strengthening the law enforcement response to modern slavery, including by ensuring victims of modern slavery receive the support they need to engage in the CJS so that offenders face justice. Bids will go through a selection process run by the Modern Slavery Unit Pursue Team in conjunction with Home Office Commercial. Bids will be reviewed by a Home Office panel with the relevant expertise in both commercial knowledge and modern slavery policy. Successful bidders must provide: * Clear explanation of the proposed activity, including how it is directly linked to the aim of supporting victims of modern slavery in engaging with the CJS, and whether it constitutes a new activity * Clear implementation plans, including demonstration of how the proposed activity will be implemented and tested by 31 March 2022 * Clear cost breakdowns of the proposed activity, including estimated timeframes for expenditure * Proposals for evaluation of the proposed activity, including plans to ensure impartiality of evaluation * Demonstration of how the proposals will achieve value for money * If applicable, demonstration of any scope for match-funding to allow continuation of the proposed activity beyond the grant period Additional information: How to apply The Home Office invites bids from police forces in England and Wales and the Gangmasters and Labour Abuse Authority. Bids can be either singular or in collaboration but must be put forward by a lead who can be the accountable body on the behalf of the partnership. In order to apply, bidders are required to send an email request for further information to MSvictimsupportCJS@homeoffice.gov.uk. Following receipt of these requests, the competition pack will be emailed directly to the bidder. This pack will contain the instructions on how to submit your application for the competition. Full and final applications should use Home Office Competition templates provided in the competition pack, and must be received electronically (by email) to MSvictimsupportCJS@homeoffice.gov.uk by the submission deadline of 4pm (GMT) on Friday 12 November 2021. It is the responsibility of the bidder to ensure that their bid is submitted in a timely manner. The Home Office does not undertake to consider bids received after the deadline.
