Summary of the contracting process

The NHS Midlands and Lancashire CSU is conducting a procurement process for "Integrated Urgent Care GP Out of Hours Services" aimed at NHS Telford & Wrekin CCG and NHS Shropshire CCG. This initiative falls under the health services sector, specifically aimed at enhancing urgent care in the West Midlands region of the United Kingdom. The procurement method is an open procedure, and the tender period concluded on the 8th of May, 2018. The contract for this service is expected to start on 1st October 2018 and will span until 7th July 2022, with a total contract value of £19.7 million GBP. The successful bidders will be required to align with the West Midlands Integrated Urgent Care Alliance Agreement to ensure a collaborative approach to service delivery.

Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprises (VCSEs) are encouraged to participate, given their capacity to deliver tailored services in community health contexts. The extensive requirements for out of hours services—including urgent consultations and mental health support—offer a range of avenues for qualified providers to enhance local healthcare delivery, potentially leading to significant business growth and collaboration within the NHS framework.
