Notice Description

INVOLVEMENT, EMPOWERMENT AND ADVOCACY SERVICE FOR THE BBO OPPORTUNITY AND CHANGE PROGRAMME IN D2N2 Nottingham City Council will be acting on behalf of Framework for the purposes of this tender. Framework has been awarded PS4.634m worth of funding to lead a partnership of 31 organisations to deliver a Big Lottery Fund/ESF Building Better Opportunities programme to support people with multiple and complex needs in the D2N2 LEP area (Derby, Derbyshire, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire). The participants in the programme will be living with two or more of the following conditions: homelessness, an enduring mental health condition, a history of offending, an issue with drugs or alcohol, or domestic violence. An opportunity has arisen for an agency with the appropriate skills and expertise to join the partnership to deliver involvement, empowerment and advocacy services in support of programme participants. The successful bidder will join the partnership to work partners and participants across the D2N2 area during the three year period beginning 1st October 2016. More information about Opportunity and Change is available at: www.frameworkha.org/opportunityandchange During the period of the contract (2016-19) the provider is required to work with at least 650 people with multiple and complex needs aged 18+ across Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire who are being supported by the Opportunity and Change programme. The activity has three components: 1. Involvement a) To lead and manage two quarterly participant meetings (one for participants in Derby/Derbyshire; the other for participants in Nottingham/Nottinghamshire), including * setting up and publicising meetings to ensure attendance * running the meetings in an interesting and engaging way to ensure engagement * providing a feedback process which enables the calibration of participants' engagement and enjoyment following up with minutes * ensuring that action points are carried out and reporting back * acting on the feedback from a separate feedback service. b) To be proactive in attending events at which to promote the value of involvement c) To support the activities of the * Evaluation Lead - who is conducting a research project to determine the social return on investment * The Peer Mentor Coordinator by encouraging participants to take part in research and volunteer as Peer Mentors. 2. Empowerment To provide individual packages of coaching/mentoring to enable participants to have the skills and confidence to contribute effectively at project board meetings 3. Advocacy To establish a procedure for the hearing of complaints by participants and to support participants through the process. The contract duration will be for a period of three years from 2016-2019 and contract value for this service will be a maximum of PS86,250 for the three year period.
