Notice Description

The Salvage & Marine Operations Team, within the MOD undertakes the through-life contract management of chartered specialist vessels which are essential for the operation of the Falkland Islands East Cove Military Port and outstations. The Team have a requirement to contract the provision of 2 harbour tugs and an additional vessel capable of undertaking specialist activities for up to 5 years. These activities will include but are not limited to: harbour tug duties, coastal re-supply, re-fuelling, fire-fighting, oil spill response and the maintenance of moorings, fenders and fuel hoses. The vessels will be required to support Single Point Mooring maintenance and provide a platform for Commercial Diving. This Falkland Island Marine Services project is currently an unfunded initiative. In issuing this PIN, the MOD is not committing to carry out any procurement in relation to the strategy stated in this PIN. Any related future procurement activity will be subject to the PCR 2015.
