Summary of the contracting process

Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust has initiated a tender process for "Fire Door Inspections & Remedial Work" in the goods category, specifically targeting fire doors. The procurement is taking place in the North West region of the United Kingdom, with key deadlines including the tender period ending on 19th November 2024 at 12:00 PM, and the contract period running from 20th November 2024 to 21st November 2024. Notice Title

Fire Door Inspections & Remedial Work

Notice Description

Mersey & West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust Mersey & West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust serve a core population of over 600,000 with a combined workforce of around 9,000 highly committed and skilled staff delivering acute hospital care, intermediate care, primary care and community-based services. The Mersey Regional Burns and Plastic Surgery Unit at Whiston Hospital and the Northwest Regional Spinal Injuries Centre at Southport Hospital serves a population of over 4 million across the whole of Cheshire and Merseyside, The Isle of Man and North Wales. Objectives for Sustainable Procurement Sustainability in purchasing need not necessarily cost more and there is now a much wider choice of environmentally friendly products. "Green goods" are not necessarily more expensive; often if the 'whole life cost' of a product is considered the cheapest product is more expensive in the long run. Whole life costing means taking into account the total cost of an item over its lifetime such as raw materials sourcing, running costs, transportation, admin costs and disposal costs. The overarching objective is for sustainability considerations to be addressed within the procurement cycle in all instances. The more specific objectives in terms of sustainable procurement are: To seek alternatives to products and processes which are detrimental to the environment and social well-being by using more environmentally friendly and ethically traded products and processes. To minimise waste, including: any packaging, waste produced by the product (or service) in question, and waste generated by the eventual disposal of the product.
