Summary of the contracting process

Hampshire County Council, acting on behalf of the Chief Constable of Hampshire Constabulary, is in the planning stage for a procurement process concerning "Traffic Enforcement Detection Equipment". This contract, aimed at supplying Home Office approved devices for traffic enforcement, encompasses various locations across Hampshire and Thames Valley. The procurement method is classified under 'goods', with key engagement activities expected to commence with a Prior Information Notice (PIN) that has been released, and a deadline for interested suppliers to express their interest set for 28th February 2021. Interested parties are encouraged to engage through the In-tend platform, with crucial information anticipated to be available beginning 1st June 2021.

This tender represents a significant opportunity for businesses involved in the supply of technology and equipment related to traffic enforcement, particularly those who provide speed detection devices or have technology awaiting Home Office approval. Suppliers of connected goods such as closed-circuit television, road equipment, and traffic monitoring systems would be particularly well-suited to compete, as this initiative aims to enhance road safety and operational efficiencies in one of the busiest road networks in the UK. Engaging with this procurement process can help businesses refine their market offering while contributing to the development of the procurement strategy in collaboration with the authorities.
