Summary of the contracting process

The City of Edinburgh Council is conducting a procurement process titled "CT0812 - Stair Cleaning for Council Owned and Mixed Tenure Blocks," aimed at providing communal stair cleaning services across approximately 2,500 to 3,000 blocks in Edinburgh. This tender falls under the cleaning services industry category and is currently in the Award stage. The framework commenced in July 2021 and is set to last for two years, with an option for two additional years. Potential bidders should be aware that the procurement follows a selective method, specifically a restricted procedure, with bid submissions having been accepted until 3rd March 2021.

This opportunity presents significant potential for businesses specialising in cleaning services, particularly those experienced in large-scale contracts or with the capacity to manage multiple properties simultaneously. The framework allows for competition among three selected contractors, creating avenues for subcontracting or collaborations, especially for small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Companies that can demonstrate excellent service quality, possess relevant qualifications, and are capable of complying with TUPE regulations are particularly well-positioned to succeed in this tender.
