Summary of the contracting process

The London and Quadrant Housing Trust is currently conducting a procurement process for "Asbestos surveying bulk sampling and associated services" for the period of 2021 to 2026, with an estimated value of £3,000,000. This process is in the tender stage, and interested organisations are invited to submit their bids by 19 March 2021. The contracts will be awarded in stages, covering various neighbourhoods across the UK, specifically in Thames, South-East, South, and South-West regions, as well as East, North East, North, and West neighbourhoods. The successful contractor will be responsible for services related to asbestos management across the Trust's extensive property portfolio, totalling approximately 104,356 units. The procurement method being utilised is a restricted procedure, requiring tenderers to apply for all lots but allowing only one contract award per successful bid.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in asbestos surveying and removal services, particularly those looking to expand their operations within the housing sector. Companies that can demonstrate experience in carrying out similar services in both occupied and unoccupied residential properties will be best suited to compete. The initial contract term is three years, with the potential for two one-year extensions, providing a stable and long-term engagement for successful bidders. Interested suppliers should prepare their submissions as the contract entails extensive coverage throughout the specified neighbourhoods, thereby allowing for the involvement of multiple contractors across different areas.
