The main procurement category is classified under services within the funeral services industry (CPV code: 98371000). The procurement method was an open procedure, and the initial contract for adult services, valued at £250,000, is set to commence on 1 March 2021 for a duration of three years, with potential extensions up to five years. The process involved proposals being accepted for either lot or both, further facilitating competitive bidding. This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in funeral services, particularly those with experience in adhering to the National Association of Funeral Directors' standards. Companies involved in both adult and child funeral services are encouraged to explore this contract, especially given the requirement for culturally sensitive, professional care. Notably, firms that can demonstrate the necessary quality and cost-effectiveness in their bids will be well-positioned to participate in this contract and potentially grow their business through a stable, long-term partnership with the NHS Trust.
