Summary of the contracting process

The University of Birmingham is seeking tenders for the provision of clinical trial monitoring services for the FaR-RMS Trial, an important multicentre, randomised phase II clinical research initiative evaluating new therapies for paediatric patients with relapsed/refractory rhabdomyosarcoma. The procurement is currently in the active tender stage, with a submission deadline of 30 April 2021. The procurement method adopted is an open procedure, and the services required include on-site Source Data Verification and trial monitoring across various sites in Europe, Canada, and the Asia Pacific region, with recruitment anticipated to commence in June 2021 and ongoing monitoring visits planned for July and August 2021.

This tender presents an excellent opportunity for businesses specialising in clinical trial monitoring and related services to engage with a prominent educational and research body. Companies with expertise in research design, patient monitoring systems, and clinical information systems will find themselves well-suited to compete for the contract, given the trial's complexity and the need for rigorous oversight. The successful bidder will collaborate closely with the University of Birmingham's clinical team to ensure effective trial management, thereby establishing a valuable partnership in the growing field of clinical research.
