Supply, Servicing, Repair and Maintenance of all Air Monitoring Equipment
Notice Description
The Council's, Environmental Services has an ongoing statutory obligation in terms of air quality under the Environment Act 1995. The obligations on the Council include the monitoring and subsequent reporting of air quality to protect and enhance standards of air quality in South Lanarkshire. Environmental Services require a fully managed service with one contractor to supply, service, repair, and maintain all of the Council's air monitoring equipment.

The award of this contract under the Negotiated Tendering Procedure can be justified under Regulation 33(1) of The Public Contracts (Scotland) Regulations 2015 for the following reason:- The services and supplies can be supplied by only one suitable contractor because competition is absent for technical reasons. Additional information: The contract being awarded is for 7 years with an optional extension of up to 3 years dependent on secured funding from the Scottish Government.
Procurement Information
ACOEM UK Ltd are the sole UK distributor for PALAS GmbH, the manufacturer of the FIDAS range of air monitoring equipment currently in place throughout the Council. In addition, the company are the sole UK accredited servicing agent approved to undertake all required servicing and maintenance of this equipment. The manufacturer has confirmed that warranties maybe invalidated if any other, non-accredited provider conducted these services.
