Summary of the contracting process

The Folkestone and Hythe District Council is managing a tender process for the supply of Development Partner Services, which aims to procure a partner for the development and regeneration of a former gas works site, 'Ship Street', in Folkestone. This initiative falls under the real estate services industry category, with a total contract value of £18 million and an expected duration of three years, starting from August 2021. The tender is currently in the planning stage, with submissions due by 21st May 2021. Electronic submissions are required for participation, and inquiries can be directed to Ms Katie Plews.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in real estate development and regeneration. Companies with expertise in constructing residential properties, particularly those that focus on sustainable design and mixed-use developments, would be well-suited to compete for this contract. Additionally, firms that have a strong alignment with the arts and creative sectors may find this project particularly appealing, given the Council's ambitions to integrate these elements into the development.
