Provision of In-Line Inspection Services
Notice Description
High Level Scope of Requirements Northern Gas Networks (NGN) is regulated by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) on safety matters and by the Office of Gas and Electricity markets (OFGEM) on prices, standards of service and regulation issues. NGN maintains and manages the gas networks in their geographic lots, including all gas Distribution mains and the Local Transmission System (LTS) pipelines. The in-line inspection (ILI) applicable pipe diameter range is from 168 mm (6in) to 1067 mm (42in), inclusive. The applicable operating pressure range is from 7 barg and up to 85 barg. The Scope of Services covers the inspection, operational support and reporting requirements for ILI vehicles used as part of the ILI programme for NGN pipelines. Optional services are also specified. NGN requires ILI services for: * Gas pipelines which have been previously inspected * Gas pipelines which have not been previously inspected The scope and specification of requirements are detailed in schedule 1 of the contract
