Summary of the contracting process

The Scottish Government is seeking a service provider for the "Administration and Management of the Community and Renewable Energy Scheme (CARES)" project, focusing on energy-efficiency consultancy services. This procurement process is currently at the Award stage, with a budget of £4,000,000 allocated for the contract, which runs from 1 April 2021 to 31 March 2025. The procurement method employed is an open procedure, and the project aims to support local energy ownership and shared ownership in Scotland.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses in the energy consultancy sector and those experienced in managing grant and loan schemes related to renewable energy. Companies that can demonstrate expertise in energy management, decarbonisation strategies, and community project support could be well-suited to compete. Moreover, the requirements surrounding cyber security compliance may attract firms possessing strong capabilities in that area, thereby enhancing their qualifications to secure the contract.
