Pembrokeshire County Council's Housing Support Grant Team, is preparing to tender for a Substance and Alcohol Misuse Service in Pembrokeshire. As part of the development of the specification for this service, we are holding a virtual Engagement Event for potential providers of this Housing Related Support Service. The purpose of this session will be to explore what's working well around the current service, what's not working quite so well and what things could be changed for the service to improve. This discussion will help inform the future direction and service model for the Substance and Alcohol Misuse Service. Your input would be very much appreciated. Estimated value is per annum and duration to be confirmed. Prior to the virtual event which will be held on Friday 18th June 2021 at 10.00am we are asking all interested parties to follow the below link and answer some questions relating to the existing service. The HSG Team will collate these answers and this will form the basis for the Engagement Event. The Generic Support Service is expected to provide it's homeless related support service across all client categories, unless customer 'need' requires them to be signposted to a more specialist support service. The aim of the Supporting People (SP) programme is to improve well-being, maintain independence and prevent homelessness of vulnerable people by providing housing related support. The overarching strategic objectives of the SP programme is to: -Improve the quality of life of service users -Promote and maintain independence -Prevent homelessness The aims of the SP Programme are to: -Help vulnerable people live as independently as possible by ensuring Supporting People services are enabling, and developing a person's independence as opposed to establishing a long-term dependency, i.e. 'doing with' as distinct from 'doing for'. -Prevent problems or provide help as early as possible in order to reduce demand on other services such as health and social services. -Help people to secure and maintain their home, by helping to maximise people's income, improve their confidence and skills, and enable them to engage with wider programmes to access training and job opportunities. -Ensure high quality services, which are delivered as efficiently and effectively as possible through joint working between organisations which plan and fund services and those that provide services. -Provide support based on need. -Promote equality and reducing inequalities. -Put people at the heart of the programme. Outcomes Welsh Government developed an Outcomes Framework for services funded through the Supporting People Programme Grant. Activities carried out by service providers report achievements against the following outcomes: Promoting Personal and Community Safety -Feeling safe -Contributing to the safety and well-being of themselves and of others Promoting Independence and Control -Managing accommodation -Managing relationships -Feeling part of the community Promoting Economic Progress and Financial Control -Managing money -Engaging in education/learning -Engaged in employment/voluntary work Promoting Health and Wellbeing -Physically healthy -Mentally healthy -Leading a healthy and active lifestyle
