Summary of the contracting process

The NHS Herts Valleys Clinical Commissioning Group, alongside NHS East and North Hertfordshire Clinical Commissioning Group, is conducting a market engagement for the procurement of Wheelchair Services aimed at improving delivery for registered populations. The event is focused on gaining insights and progress regarding the paused commissioning project due to the pandemic. It is set to take place virtually on 1st July 2021 from 3 to 4 PM, with registration required by 30th June 2021 by 5 PM. This process falls under health and social work services and is currently in the planning stage, with the intended procurement method linked to a Light Touch Regime under the Public Contracts Regulations 2015.

This tender presents significant opportunities for service providers focused on health and social care, particularly those specialising in wheelchair services, adaptive technologies, or related areas. Businesses that can demonstrate an innovative approach to service efficiency, quality improvement, and user engagement are particularly well-placed to compete. Furthermore, organisations with capabilities in stock control and procurement tailored to wheelchair requirements may also find this tender advantageous, given the focus on prompt delivery and enhanced patient choice.
