Summary of the contracting process

NHS England is preparing to launch a procurement process for the Seasonal Pressures Surge Support Programme, aimed at enhancing surge capacity within health and care systems across England. A market engagement event is scheduled for Thursday, 29th July 2021, from 9:30 am to 11:30 am, where prospective bidders can learn more about the service delivery model and consult on the anticipated procurement approach. The procurement will be conducted as an Open Procedure under the Public Contracts Regulations 2015, with the Invitation to Tender (ITT) expected to be published in August 2021.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses offering health services, particularly those with experience in support for hospital discharge or community care solutions. Companies capable of developing a robust and sustainable support model will be well-positioned to compete for this long-term contract, which aims to alleviate system pressures and enhance care delivery. Engaging in this process will also allow organisations to network with other providers and contribute to shaping essential health services across the region.
