Summary of the contracting process

The NHS Stafford and Surrounds Clinical Commissioning Group, in collaboration with various local CCGs, has fully executed a tender for the Staffordshire and Stoke on Trent GP Out of Hours Service. This procurement falls within the health services industry category and is set in the UK, specifically covering areas including North Staffordshire and Stoke on Trent, as well as South Staffordshire and local prisons. The contract commenced on 1st April 2022 and spans five years, with an option to extend for an additional two years. The procurement method adopted is an open procedure, which allows for wider participation from interested suppliers.

This tender provides significant opportunities for businesses specializing in healthcare services, particularly those experienced in delivering out of hours medical care. Providers with the capacity to manage urgent care populations and those well-versed in integrated urgent care specifications will find this contract particularly well-suited. As the successful supplier is currently Vocare Limited, future opportunities may arise for companies looking to specialise or expand their services in general practice and urgent care provision within the NHS framework.
