Notice Information
Notice Title
Development of hydrogen ancillary device and component standards
Notice Description
The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) intends to appoint the British Standards Institution (BSI) to develop a series of Publicly Available Specification (PAS) standards for ancillary hydrogen gas devices and components used downstream of the emergency control valve (ECV) in hydrogen end-use applications.
Lot Information
Lot 1
BEIS requires a series of PAS standards to be developed by BSI to codify guidance and specifications for ancillary hydrogen gas devices and components used downstream of the ECV in hydrogen end-use applications. BSI will undertake a standards mapping exercise and industry stakeholder workshop to define the scope and requirements of the PAS standards to be developed. The series of PAS standards will cover functional and test requirements for hydrogen gas metering, material requirements for ancillary components and devices for use with hydrogen, and functional and test methods for complex ancillary components and devices for use with hydrogen.
Procurement Information
The British Standards Institution (BSI) is nationally and internationally recognised as the author and owner of standards and other supporting literature for the installation, operation and maintenance of gas appliances and systems downstream of the Emergency Control Valve (ECV) in the United Kingdom (UK). No other body can codify the standards in this area. No other economic operator can provide the service of setting standards in this area, with the specific property of universally recognised and accessible record of an approach that represents good business practice.
