Summary of the contracting process

The Perth & Kinross Council is undertaking a tender process for the "Appropriate Adult Service (Tayside)" which is classified under "Other community, social and personal services." The procurement is currently in the Award stage, having been completed with a contract value of £431,200 for the provision of this service across Tayside. This initiative involves cooperation among three councils—Dundee City, Perth and Kinross, and Angus—with the contract specifically managed by Perth and Kinross Council. Award criteria emphasise quality (80%) over price (20%), and the project began on 30th March 2022.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses focused on social service provision, especially those experienced in delivering support services to vulnerable populations. Companies with expertise in social work, mental health, or advocacy services would be particularly well-suited for participation. Given the emphasis on community benefits and the potential for long-term engagement—up to two years with renewal options—this project can facilitate growth for SMEs aiming to expand their service offerings in the public sector.
