Summary of the contracting process

The Ministry of Justice is planning a procurement process for catering services and prisoner training across four public sector prisons in the UK, with a total contract value of £5,760,000. This initiative falls under the services category and is classified as canteen and catering services. This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses in the catering and hospitality sectors, particularly those with expertise in prisoner rehabilitation and training services. Companies that can provide comprehensive catering solutions, including meals for both prisoners and staff, alongside elements of training and skills development for inmates, would be well-suited to compete. Businesses interested in social value and sustainability initiatives will also find potential within this tender, as it seeks to leverage prisoner assistance and training to reduce reoffending.
