Provision of Patient Transport Services
Notice Description
This is a Framework Agreement for the Provision of Patient Transport Services (Especially Renal Patients and other categories of Patients). The Authority's requirements are for patients without access to alternative transport options, such as relatives/friends or the voluntary sector. This will include those patients whose own transport arrangements are temporarily unavailable. The Renal Service within NHS Grampian is based in units at the following sites: Aberdeen, Stonehaven, Inverurie, Peterhead, Elgin, and Banff. The total number of lots is 8 (1 for each of the 6 dialysis units, 1 for journeys to satellite Renal Units out with a patient's local area or to ARI, and 1 for journeys to and from RI of Glasgow or Edinburgh). From the tenders received, the Authority intends to appoint a minimum of one provider each for lots 2-6 and a maximum of two providers to lots 1, 7, and 8. The service is required 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year. Please refer to the ITT Documents on PCS-Tender for more information.
Lot Information
Lot 1 - Aberdeen City and Environs
The Lot involves transporting patients (especially renal patients) within Aberdeen City's geographical area to and from the Aberdeen Royal Infirmary Hospital and other hospitals within the city. A maximum of 2 providers will be appointed onto this lot. Further information is available on the Specification and ITT doc. Renewal: The Framework Agreement will be for a period of three years and with the option to extend for an additional one year at the authority's discretion. The Authority also reserves the right to extend beyond the four periods of the framework agreement where there is an urgent clinical and business need to do so or due to any circumstances beyond her control.
Lot 2 - Banff & EnvironsThe Lot involves transporting patients within the Banff and environs area to and from Chalmers Hospital. A minimum of 1 provider will be appointed onto this lot. Lot 3 - Elgin & EnvironsThis Lot involves transporting patients within Elgin and environs to and from Dr. Grays Hospital. A minimum of 1 provider will be appointed to this lot. Lot 7- Journeys across NHS Grampian sites to non-local satellite hospitals or to the ARIThis Lot covers the transportation of patients to other hospitals outside their geographical area including the Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. Lot 8 - Journeys from across NHS Grampian to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary or Glasgow Royal InfirmaryThis Lot covers the transportation of Patients to hospitals in Edinburgh or Glasgow. Providers may be required to pick up patients from across Grampian and to hospitals in Edinburgh or Glasgow or to any other hospitals outside the Grampian region. For these journeys, the potential providers will be expected to be available at very short notice and journeys could take place anytime including overnight, weekends, and public holidays.
