Summary of the contracting process

The NHS Morecambe Bay Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is conducting a procurement process for the "Mental Health Support Teams in Schools" project aimed at enhancing mental health support in the Morecambe Bay area. This initiative falls under the health and social work services category, specifically utilizing the Light Touch Regime outlined in the Public Contracts Regulations 2015. Currently, the procurement is at the Award stage, with the contract value set at approximately £5.33 million over a five-year term. Key timelines include the expected operational start date for the new service by the end of September 2023, following the training of Education Mental Health Practitioners scheduled to commence in September 2022.

This tender presents an excellent opportunity for organisations specialising in mental health services, educational support, and social services. Businesses that provide evidence-based interventions for mental health and have a background in working within educational settings would be particularly well-suited to compete. The project aims to deliver crucial early intervention services for children and young people aged 5-18, thereby fostering a collaborative approach to mental health and emotional wellbeing within schools. Providers who can establish productive partnerships with educational institutions and demonstrate high-quality standards will likely thrive in this competitive process.
