Lot Information
Digital Autopsies
Kent County Council are seeking tender responses from interested suppliers who are able to provide either Digital Autopsy and/or Body Store Services. Digital Autopsy (DA) is a non-invasive autopsy in which digital imaging technology using Computerised Tomography (CT) is used to develop three dimensional images for a virtual exploration of the human body. Kent County Council and the Kent Senior Coroners have agreed to use DA as the principal means of establishing the cause of death for all cases referred to the coroner that would otherwise be dealt with using traditional invasive post-mortem procedures. DA will be the first line of intervention, but where this does not give a successful cause of death outcome, the deceased will go on for a full or part invasive post-mortem. The successful supplier will be required to provide digital autopsies for an average demand of 3,300 post-mortems per annum, this number may vary subject to the number of deaths within the county per annum. In addition to digital autopsies, KCC requires a supplier to be responsible for 24/7 day to day running of the associated Body Store. The Council reserves the right to award both contracts to one supplier. Further details are available via the Kent Business Portal (www.kentbusinessportal.org.uk ) and all expressions of interest must be made via the Kent Business Portal. To be considered for this tendering opportunity a completed selection questionnaire must be submitted no later than noon on the 18th January 2022 Additional information: The contract term will be part of the procurement negotiations to ascertain the correct length of contract.
