Summary of the contracting process

The Planning Inspectorate is preparing to launch the "Non Salaried Inspector Procurement 2022," aimed at acquiring a minimum of 100 Non Salaried Inspectors (NSIs) under an 18-month agreement to support various types of planning appeals and related casework. The procurement is categorised under urban planning services and is currently in the planning stage, with full tender documentation scheduled to be published on 1 February 2022. This £2,000,000 tender will require services to be delivered primarily from the Planning Inspectorate's Bristol headquarters, but NSIs will predominantly work from home and make site visits throughout England.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in urban planning and casework services, particularly those with expertise in planning appeals and related legal matters. Companies with a strong background in planning law, several years of relevant experience, and qualifications such as a degree in a related field will be well-positioned to compete. The flexible nature of the contract allows for the inclusion of diverse case types, making it ideal for firms that can demonstrate adaptability and a comprehensive understanding of both commercial and residential planning contexts.
