Approved List for the Provision of Day Services and Community Opportunities
Notice Description
Newport City Council invites tenders to refresh and update the approved list of providers for Day Services, Independent Living and Community Opportunities for both adults and children & young people that was established in 2018. Providers can bid to supply either Day Services or Independent Living and Community Opportunities, or both.

Lot 1
Providers who are interested in applying to be appointed to the approved list either for Day Services or Independent Living and Community Opportunities or both must be able to provide them as follows: - Day Services The service can be provided within a building-based centre with a range of activities being available to users such as music, sports, cookery, etc. The Day Service must meet the requirements as set out in the Disability Discrimination Act 2005. - Independent Living and Community Opportunities through: a) Face to face contact b) Visits/meetings throughout community venues across the City c) Social networks/events/activities d) Outreach services/groups e) Support groups f) One to one or group befriending g) Learning and skills development h) Short Breaks for Adults and Children All appointed providers must be able to develop volunteering within the services. The approved provider list will operate with the same principles of a DPS and will remain open for new entrants in the market to Newport to be able to be appointed to it if they meet the criteria within. The call off procedure for the approved list is detailed within the tender documents. The approved provider list will continue for an unspecified period of time in line with the Public Contract Regulations 2015 (subject to termination in accordance with the Standards terms).
