Lot 1

Dementia is a syndrome (a group of related symptoms) associated with an ongoing decline of brain functioning. Research shows that there are more than 850,000 people in the UK who have Dementia with 1 in 14 being over the age of 65 and 1 in 6 over the age of 80. The number of people living with Dementia is increasing because people are living longer. It is estimated that by 2025 there will be 1 million people living with Dementia. This will include signposting to services, advance care planning, legal advice and advocating on their behalf. There will be a general focus on admission avoidance for all residents diagnosed with Dementia.
