Summary of the contracting process

The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) is planning a procurement process titled "PROJ10222 Better Lives for Somali Women and Children," aimed at delivering essential health services in Somalia and Somaliland. This tender is focused on foreign economic-aid-related services and has an estimated value of £120 million. Currently in the planning stage, the FCDO intends to formally publish the tender once the project scope is finalised, with an Early Market Engagement event scheduled for 16 February 2022. Interested suppliers should register on the FCDO Supplier Portal to receive updates and participate in the event.

This procurement presents substantial business growth opportunities, particularly for companies specialising in international development, healthcare services, and capacity building in fragile environments. Businesses that provide reproductive, maternal, and child health services, as well as those with experience in coordinating large-scale health initiatives, would be well-suited to compete. Engaging with the FCDO’s forthcoming processes could allow businesses to establish significant partnerships, enhance their service offerings, and contribute to improving health outcomes for vulnerable populations in Somalia.
