Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process for the "0-19 Children's Public Health Nursing Service" is spearheaded by Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council and focuses on delivering community health services within Rotherham. This notice pertains to an active contract modification under the Health Care Services Provider Selection Regime 2023, amending a previously awarded contract to The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust. The procurement stage is in the contract modification phase, as of October 2025, with the modification allowing for additional service provisions within the initially agreed contract term, ending March 31, 2026. The key modifications involve the addition of nursery nurses and infant feeding support roles, funded through external grants. The processes are in compliance with relevant regulations, ensuring the modification aligns with local authority decisions and does not materially alter the contract's scope or value significantly.

Businesses that specialise in integrated health services, including preventative and early intervention strategies for children, would be well-suited for participation. The procurement offers a platform for businesses to work with local governments to extend healthcare services, leveraging grants for expanded roles and responsibilities while adhering to regulations. Supplying organisations can foster long-term relationships with local authorities, proving advantageous in future procurement cycles due to demonstrated capability in managing public health initiatives effectively within stipulated frameworks.
