Notice Title

Contract for Home to School Transport for Wellfield School

Notice Description

Wellfield is an oversubscribed, successful 11-16 school. We are a consistently good school and have had two consecutive "good" judgements from Ofsted. Using validated data, GCSE examinations results are above the national average and overall progress is above average. Situated only 8 miles to the east of Durham City the school is well located for access to the A19 and A1(M). It is also within comfortable driving distance of affordable housing and Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This contract is for a dedicated bus service for students attending the school, which takes students from the Eastern edge of its catchment areas. The routes will transport non-statutory, non-fee paying, students. As demand for places at school alters year on year the school would like to be able to expand its bus routes if necessary or offer different routes to support children to attend the school, this could include changing the size of a bus on a particular route or adding another service.

Lot 1

This contract is for a dedicated bus service for students attending the school, which takes students from the Eastern edge of its catchment areas. Due to this potential extra requirement this tender will be split into two lots. Lot 1 will be for the current requirements of the school detailed below. Lot 2 will be a call off lot that will provide the school with the flexibility to add additional resource to current routes or the introduction of new routes depending on demand.
