Summary of the contracting process

The Cheshire East Borough Council is planning to procure a new service titled "Provision of a Car Club" aimed at vehicle-fleet management, specifically focusing on electric vehicle (EV) options for staff and residents. This procurement initiative is currently in the planning stage, with an indication of possible procurement activity expected later this year (2022). The relevant discussions and presentations for interested parties will be held on 19th and 20th May 2022, with the deadline to submit responses set for 12:00 noon on 13th May 2022. The council encourages feedback from organisations to refine the procurement process and ensure it meets community needs effectively. The primary location for the service will be Cheshire East, UK, and the procurement method being used is a tender process.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses involved in fleet management, electric vehicles, and service provision for public transport solutions. Companies that specialise in developing eco-friendly transport solutions or providing fleet management services would particularly benefit from participating in this procurement. By engaging with the council during the planning phase, businesses can tailor their proposals to align with the council's objectives of increasing service efficiency and promoting low-emission vehicle usage across the borough.

Notice Title

Provision of a Car Club

Notice Description

Cheshire East Council are seeking a partner to develop, manage and maintain a brand-new car club for Cheshire East staff and residential use. The largely electric vehicle (EV) car club is intended to replace our current pool car system to create a more efficient and effective mode of transport across the borough. The council's intention is to invite feedback from a variety of organisations to explore what opportunities are possible and how then Council's needs can best be met. The council would expect the operator of the scheme to expand and improve the provision of the service where appropriate, prioritising low emission vehicles and proactively extending memberships across Cheshire East to ensure the service benefits for our intended users.
