Summary of the contracting process

The West Essex Clinical Commissioning Group is seeking to enhance mental health support within the educational sector through the contract titled "Mental Health Support Teams in West Essex." This procurement falls under the health services category and is located in the West Essex area, with the contract having commenced on 1st April 2022 and scheduled to conclude on 31st March 2024. The procurement was executed using a limited method, specifically an award procedure without prior publication of a call for competition, aimed at leveraging the existing capabilities of West Essex Mind, which has established strong connections with local schools and mental health services.

This tender presents substantial opportunities for businesses specialising in mental health services, particularly those experienced in working within educational environments. Companies that provide mental health interventions, school counselling, or training for educators on mental health issues would be well-suited to compete in future opportunities stemming from this contract. Additionally, businesses with a proven track record in community-based health initiatives may find potential for collaboration and expansion, especially as the Hertfordshire and West Essex Integrated Care System plans to review services prior to the contract's expiration in 2024.
