Summary of the contracting process

Kent County Council is planning to initiate a tender for the "Delivery of Support, Skills Development and Training Opportunities for People in the Community." This procurement falls under the Health and Social Work Services category and is expected to be published on 30th May 2022, with a new contractual arrangement start date of 1st October 2022. The process will follow the light touch regime for health and social care services, and interested suppliers can express their interest by emailing communitywellbeing@kent.gov.uk. The procurement is in the planning stage as it aims to replace the existing service contract, which ends on 30th September 2022.

This tender presents significant growth opportunities for businesses specialising in community services, particularly those focused on health and social work. Companies that offer innovative support solutions and training programmes tailored for individuals with disabilities will be well-positioned to compete. The procurement will not only benefit local providers but may also attract organisations looking to expand their service offerings in the health and social care sector. The focus on flexible delivery methods following pandemic learnings suggests the need for adaptable service models that can make a positive impact in the community.
