Summary of the contracting process

The National Health Service, represented by NHS England, has awarded a framework agreement for health services under the NHS Increasing Capacity Framework. The procurement process was completed on July 26, 2022, with successful bidders signing framework agreements starting from August 1, 2022. The agreement will run until November 20, 2024, with no extension option. This framework aims to provide services such as NHS inpatient and outpatient care, pathology, imaging, and urgent elective care. The contracting authority, NHS England, retains the right to refresh the framework multiple times to ensure providers meet requirements and allow for new entrants.

This tender presents an opportunity for healthcare service providers to engage with NHS England and its contracting authorities. Businesses operating in the health services sector, particularly SMEs and large organisations, are invited to compete for contracts under the NHS Increasing Capacity Framework. With a focus on quality and pricing criteria, providers must meet the eligibility requirements to secure contracts. The procurement method employed is open, providing equal access to all interested suppliers. Interested parties can find detailed information on the tender process at the UK EU Supply platform.

NHS England Increasing Capacity Framework Agreement - Refresh

Notice Description

The National Health Service Commissioning Board (which uses the operational name 'NHS England') established a framework for clinical services titled Increasing Capacity Framework (ICF) under the light touch regime in November 2020. As advertised in the original OJEU contract notice this framework agreement could be refreshed. This award notification is to advise of contract awards associated with refreshing the framework agreement. The awarded clinical services under the Framework Agreement include: 1) NHS inpatient and outpatient (including full supporting pathology and imaging) services and urgent elective care and cancer treatment to service users in line with nationally set criteria; 2) NHS inpatient non-elective care (either direct admission or transfer from an NHS organisation). The ICF may be accessed by NHS England and all ICB's, and NHS Trusts and Foundation Trusts across England and their successor bodies.
