Summary of the contracting process

The Luton Council is currently conducting a tender process for the supply of various types of doors, including composite external doors, composite fire doors, shed doors, gates, and emergency doors. This procurement falls under the construction industry and is classified as goods with a focus on providing essential materials for planned work and refurbishment projects. The amended deadline for submissions is set for 20 June 2022, and final procurement decisions will be based on annual indicative quantities as well as the Council's financial year running from April to March.

This tender presents significant growth opportunities for businesses specialising in construction supplies and materials, particularly those capable of supplying a diverse range of door types. Companies that can manage quick turnaround projects or that are equipped to handle bulk supply contracts will find this tender especially relevant. By participating in this framework agreement, these businesses could establish long-term relationships with Luton Council and secure contracts for ongoing refurbishment and maintenance projects.

Notice Title

Supply of Composite External Doors, Composite Fire Doors, Shed Doors & Gates and Emergency Doors

Notice Description

The Council employs a building maintenance division called BTS which is also a trading arm of the Council. They use direct labour as well as sub-contractors The purpose of this tender is to set up a frame work of suppliers for the supply only of various residential doors with the view to awarding a primary provider for each lot. The supply of doors is predominantly for planned work and refurbishment projects however there will be occasion for a quick 'turn around' door of various types which is covered in lot 4. A provider can bid for all or individual lots but will be expected to provide ALL door types if bidding for lot 4 as detailed in the pricing document. All quantities in the pricing document are annual indicative quantities. The Councils financial year runs from April to March so some doors will already have been ordered for the 2022-23 program so volumes will be lower this year. There are also no guaranteed volumes for all requirements on this contract at any time.
