Summary of the contracting process

Southampton City Council is planning a tender titled "Southampton Advocacy Services - Market Engagement," set to take place on 28 June 2022 from 10:00 to 11:30 am. This initiative falls under the health and social work services category, with the anticipated contract start date of 1 April 2023. The initial contract term is three years, with the possibility of a two-year extension. The market engagement event is part of the preparations for a future tender of advocacy services anticipated in autumn 2022, adhering to the Public Contracts Regulations 74-76. Interested participants must register by 24 June 2022 to attend the session via an MS Teams invite.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses, particularly those specialising in health and social work services, advocacy, and related support systems. Companies that offer independent mental health advocacy, mental capacity advocacy, and support for individuals with special educational needs would be well-suited to compete. The market engagement aims to involve relevant organisations in the development of the service delivery model, allowing suppliers to influence the procurement process effectively. Businesses attending this session will gain insights into service specifications and requirements, helping to align their offerings with the council's needs.
