Summary of the contracting process

Lancashire County Council is planning to tender for the recommissioning of Crisis and Intermediate Care Services, with a focus on stakeholder engagement. This procurement falls under the health and social work services category, specifically intended to enhance the Intermediate Care offer across Lancashire. The process is currently in the planning stage, with an anticipated start for formal procurement in late 2022. Award of contracts is expected in Spring 2023, and services are projected to commence in August 2023. Interested providers are encouraged to submit their feedback by 15th June 2022, which will inform the Council's approach to the upcoming tender.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses in the health and social care sector, especially those offering Intermediate Care services. Companies that provide support services aimed at recovery and independence post-illness or injury will find this a strategic opportunity. Businesses operating in residential care or home-based services should consider engaging with the Council to discuss potential service delivery options across Lancashire, as this feedback may influence the structure of the forthcoming competitive procurement process.
