Summary of the contracting process

The NHS North East London Clinical Commissioning Group is planning to initiate a tender for community hospice services for adults in several boroughs of North East London, including Barking & Dagenham, Havering, Redbridge, Tower Hamlets, Newham, Waltham Forest, the City of London, and Hackney. The expected contract value is approximately £76.5 million, covering a service duration of five years with a potential two-year extension. Interested organisations are required to submit expressions of interest by midday on 8th July 2022, with the contract commencement projected for 1st April 2023. This tender is framed to ensure that high-quality end-of-life and palliative care is maintained for adult patients in the specified regions.

This procurement process presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in hospice care services, particularly those with experience in providing non-NHS hospice solutions. Companies that can demonstrate a robust track record in delivering comprehensive end-of-life care, including inpatient facilities and community support services, will be well-positioned to compete. The CCG is seeking organisations that have suitable physical locations in the community and the necessary clinical experience to deliver the required service standards. This is an excellent opportunity for skilled providers to engage with a potentially rewarding contract aimed at enhancing palliative care in North East London.
