In order to meet its commitment to reduce oral health inequalities and tooth decay rates, especially amongst children, the DHSC requires specialised engineering support to advise on the management of water fluoridation schemes which ensures that water companies deliver services in line with the agreements they hold with the DHSC. Specifically, the engineering support will provide independent advice on performance issues reported by companies such as water fluoridation programmes put in place by water companies, performance issues reported by water companies and proposals from companies for further capital investment by the DHSC and whether these proposals are operable, efficient and represent value for money.
