The Angus Council is preparing to initiate a tender for the provision of Independent Intermediate Care services in South Angus, focusing on block purchasing four beds in a care home setting. This procurement, valued at £850,000, is aimed at enhancing health and social work services over an initial contract period of two years, with the possibility of two additional one-year extensions. Interested suppliers must be registered with the Care Inspectorate, with a minimum grading of 3 (adequate) to qualify. The anticipated date for the future notice is set for 8 August 2022.

This opportunity is particularly relevant for businesses specialising in health and social care services, especially those equipped to provide rehabilitation support for older adults. Companies that can offer integrated care solutions to facilitate the transition between hospital and home are well-positioned to compete in this tender. As the contract aims to enhance patient recovery and reduce hospital admissions, firms with experience in community care, rehabilitation, and supportive housing will have a competitive advantage.
