Summary of the contracting process

The Ministry of Defence in the United Kingdom recently completed the contracting process for Backup Atmosphere Monitoring Systems (BAMS) for submarines. This procurement contract, valued at £1,200,000 and categorised under "Gas-detection equipment" (CPV 38543000), involved the provision of 10 BAMS units, spares, and the capacity to order additional units and parts as required. The delivery for the initial contract requires completion within 12 months, with testing and evaluation for safety modifications included. The procurement, executed through a restricted procedure, concluded with an award to Analox Limited. The primary location for the delivery of these systems is within the UK, specifically the North East region (UKE2). The key dates include the contract signing on 26 September 2024.

This tender presents significant business growth opportunities, especially for companies specialising in high-precision and safety-critical equipment such as gas-detection systems. Firms capable of providing robust, innovative, and scalable monitoring solutions will find this contract highly advantageous. The Ministry of Defence, being a prestigious and substantial buyer, offers a solid platform for suppliers to establish long-term relationships and potentially secure future contracts. Companies with expertise in supporting military and defence applications, including spare part management and extended support services, would be well-suited to engage in similar procurement processes.
