Summary of the contracting process

The Defra Network eTendering Portal, a UK National Agency for Environmental Protection, is planning a tender for the procurement of services related to a three-quarter life survey for Mirrlees Blackstone engines at Thames Barrier. The procurement involves mechanical engineering services to inspect and overhaul the engines to extend their operational lifespan. The tender requires suppliers with expertise in ESL 16 twin bank engines and the ability to provide spares promptly. The preferred supplier must undergo a counter terrorist check prior to contract award, with a future notice date set for December 12, 2022.

This tender presents an opportunity for businesses specializing in mechanical engineering services to showcase their expertise in engine inspections and overhauls. Companies with experience in working with ESL 16 twin bank engines and providing spare parts efficiently would be well-suited to compete for this tender. The planned procurement process is currently in the tender stage, offering potential suppliers a chance to demonstrate their technical capabilities and secure a contract to support the maintenance and longevity of critical infrastructure at Thames Barrier.
