AMIC will provide high quality innovation support to manufacturing and advanced engineering industry by bringing together world class academic expertise, advanced industrial practice from commercial partners and the specialist facilities needed to execute innovation Research and Development projects in our target industry sectors, together with supporting research, training, and technical services.

The project is for the construction of the Advanced Manufacturing Innovation Centre (AMIC).AMIC will combine a comprehensive and collaborative regional innovation support system for the Advanced Manufacturing, Materials and Engineering sectors of Northern Irish industry, with selected niche areas of national competitiveness. AMIC will provide high quality innovation support to manufacturing and advanced engineering industry by bringing together world class academic expertise, advanced industrial practice from commercial partners and the specialist facilities needed to execute innovative R&D projects in our target industry sectors, together with supporting research, training, and technical services. The scope of work for the Project includes:-* Pre-Construction Period Services. * Contractor Design Packages. * Specialist workshops, laboratory spaces, clean rooms and support spaces. * Staff office and support spaces for 150 people. * Cafeteria and Reception areas. * Collaborative engagement areas. * Presentation, learning and auditorium spaces. * Servicing, delivery and loading/off-loading areas. * External landscaping and car parking. * External road realignment works. The project is utilising the 'Traditional Two Stage' procurement methodology. It will be the Contractor's responsibility to finalise the detailed design for any Contractor Design Packages (as noted in Project Brief and Contract Data) and construct the works. This will be undertaken in the following two stages: Stage 1: Pre-Construction Period The Contractor will be appointed to engage with the Integrated Consultant Team (ICT) to provide Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) to help with the finalisation of the detailed design, review the Contractor Design Packages and agree a target price for construction. Stage 2: Construction Period Following conclusion of all Stage 1 deliverables, a Construction Notice will be issued. Under the Construction Notice, Queen's has the option to proceed with the Construction Works, which is reliant on an approved Full Business Case and acceptable target price. Alternatively, Queen's may issue a Construction Notice to terminate the contract, where Full Business Case approval has not been approved and/or an acceptable target price agreed.
