Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process is for the provision of Non-Emergency Patient Transport Services (NEPTS) across Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Cheshire, Merseyside and Cumbria. The buying organisation, Midlands and Lancashire CSU, in collaboration with several NHS Integrated Care Boards, is planning this tender titled "Patient Transport Service". The industry category is transport services. The procurement stage is planned, with a future notice date of 6th June 2023. The total contract value is approximately £59 million per year for 5 years, extendable for 2 or 3 years. The engagement meeting for potential bidders is scheduled for 25th April 2023 in the North West of England.

This procurement process offers opportunities for businesses in the transport services sector to compete for the contract to provide NEPTS in the specified regions. Companies with experience in planned and unplanned patient transport services, as well as enhanced priority service transport for critical treatments, would be well-suited to bid. The contracting authority, comprising multiple NHS Integrated Care Boards, will be evaluating bids based on the geographical LOTs within Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Cheshire, Merseyside, and Cumbria. Businesses interested in participating should request attendance for the engagement meeting by 21st April 2023 to discuss the tender requirements and potential contract terms.
