Summary of the contracting process

The NHS Kent and Medway Integrated Care Board is planning a procurement process for a Rough Sleeper Mental Health Service in the Kent and Medway region. This service aims to provide assertive clinical assessment and interventions to individuals referred by West Kent and Medway Rough Sleeper Initiative outreach services, who generally do not engage in formal health care pathways. The current stage is planned, with a market engagement event scheduled for Monday 26th June 2023 to finalise the financial model, service model, and procurement strategy.

This procurement process presents an opportunity for service providers in the health industry to deliver specialized mental health support to vulnerable individuals experiencing homelessness in the region. Businesses with experience in providing healthcare services in non-healthcare settings, along with expertise in engaging with individuals who have experienced homelessness, would be well-suited to compete for this contract. The contract duration is expected to be 3 years with up to a 2-year extension option, offering a potential annual contract value of \u00a3410,000 to cover west Kent and Medway, with potential expansion to other areas in Kent and Medway.
