Physical activity in Charedi girls' schools

Do you work closely with schools in your community? Do you value the importance of physical activity and overall wellbeing? Hackney Council is seeking a dedicated individual to collaborate closely with girls' schools in the community, with a focus on increasing participation in physical activity. The provision of physical activity in schools goes beyond physical health; it positively influences cognitive functioning, academic achievement, self-esteem, and social interaction. We understand that children and young people may not automatically develop the knowledge, understanding, skills, behaviours, attitudes, and confidence necessary for regular participation in physical activity. That's why we need someone to support the development of physical activity to help shape the overall well-being of children and young people. You will have the opportunity to work in collaboration with schools to develop culturally appropriate initiatives and support schools in implementing engaging ways to increase participation in physical activity. This can include training and supporting staff to introduce initiatives such as the Daily Mile, or to work on developing other initiatives that will be suitable to school timetables. The successful provider would be expected to: - Provide support in developing physical education and increasing participation in physical activity, ideally, in schools - Create strategies to reduce sedentary behaviour within the classroom and throughout the day - Integrate initiatives, like the Daily Mile, or develop similar activities that fit around schools' timetables - Enhance students' confidence and competence in participating in physical education - Deliver engaging physical activity after-school clubs, where required - Empower and upskill school staff, ensuring the long-term sustainability of these initiatives

Renewal: Initial contract period of 3 years, with 2 optional annual extensions (PS12,500 per year)
