Safer Accommodation for Victims of Domestic Abuse
Notice Description
This service provision is to provide victim-survivors of DA with Safe Accommodation support services as defined in Part 4 of the Domestic Abuse Act. This Service will provide domestic abuse specialist support, housing management functions and support to victims in shared/dispersed safe accommodation across the county. This type of accommodation provision is intended as a short-term option. It is expected for service users to remain in the accommodation for no more than 12 months, to which it is expected that the awarding body supports those service users until they have access to more stable accommodation. The accommodation will be for victims who want to leave an abusive relationship but need emotional and practical support through the process; and/ or victims who need to leave their accommodation immediately for their own and/or their dependent children's safety whilst a permanent safe place to live is found. The service will be split into three types of accommodation: - Lot 1: Specialist Accommodation for BAME Victims - Lot 2: Generic, Accessible Accommodation for Victims of Domestic Abuse (Larger families, Families with Pets, Families with older male children and Accessible accommodation for those with disabilities) - Lot 3: Specialist Accommodation for Male Victims

Specialist Accommodation for BAME Victims
This opportunity was an open procedure under the Light Touch Regime, and the Council and welcomed tenders from consortium and/or sub-contracting arrangements. The service provider will be required to provide Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) background victims of domestic abuse, and the overarching aims and objectives of the service are: - To provide BAME victim-survivors of DA with Safe Accommodation support services as defined in Part 4 of the Domestic Abuse Act. - This Service will provide domestic abuse specialist support, housing management functions and support to victims in dispersed safe accommodation across the county. - To work with District/Borough Councils across the county to ensure the provision of suitable accommodation for victims fleeing domestic abuse meets a diverse range of needs. - To provide a trauma informed positive physical and emotional environment that promotes healing and recovery. - To respond in a timely fashion to all safe accommodation that includes assessment and induction to accommodation. - To work in an integrated and co-ordinated manner with local and national specialist and universal service providers to meet the needs of those being accommodated. - To assist parents to meet the physical and emotional needs of their children whilst living in safe accommodation. - To provide an advocacy service and encourage service users to engage with other beneficial services/support groups. Including, signposting and providing information and contact details for suitable services. - To improve the knowledge, skills and confidence of local practitioners and the local community through presentations, so that they can respond appropriately to domestic abuse. - The worker to deliver relevant domestic abuse awareness programmes to service users - To empower service users to integrate in the community and engage in other services in help build confidence and understanding of domestic abuse. This lot is awarded as a contract to a single provider.
