Notice: Transportation, storage, disposal of seized goods from Prison Establishments

Notice Description

The core potential requirements for this service are defined below but not limited to: *Collection and haulage of seized goods, in various size(s) and quantities, from the point of collection and transportation to a secure storage facility; * HMPPs would then request the contractor to dispose of seized goods or in some circumstances await further instructions ( movement to another facility). The Contractor will be required to provide a range of expert skills and services including removal, storage and disposal of items. HMPPs has identified that there is likely to be a wide variance in the value of the items involved. HMPPs expectation is that some individual items will be valued in thousands of pounds while many items will be of a lesser value. In addition some establishments may have one package to collect, whilst another may have many boxed items. The demands on the Contractor will vary and will be dependent on the different types and values of the items that are seized. The Contractor will be required to be able to service all prisons in UK and Wales, therefore national capability is required. The Contractor will be expected to collect, transport and dispose of the following items but not limited to; a) Illicit Drugs b) Prescribed drugs c) Textiles d) Electronics e) Mobile Phones It is anticipated that one to two collections from each prison establishment will be needed each year (approximately 140 establishments) This notice does not commit the Authority to a future procurement. This notice is purely for fact finding to understand what is available in the market.
