Notice Description
Staffordshire County Council (SCC) has placed a contract for a Shared Lives Service, which is a service whereby individuals with assessed eligible social care needs share the family home of a specially recruited and trained Shared Lives Carer and their family. The purpose of the Shared Lives Service is to support Individuals to reach their potential and live healthy, safe, independent, and fulfilling lives in their own communities. The objective is to provide the best possible support in accordance with the lifestyle and wishes of each Individual, incorporating a person-centered, strength and asset-based approach to service delivery.

Staffordshire County Council has re procured the current Shared Lives Service which is due to expire on 31st March 2024. The Shared Lives Service, is a service whereby individuals with assessed eligible social care needs share the family home of a specially recruited and trained Shared Lives Carer and their family. The purpose of the Shared Lives Service is to support Individuals to reach their potential and live healthy, safe, independent, and fulfilling lives in their own communities. The objective is to provide the best possible support in accordance with the lifestyle and wishes of each Individual, incorporating a person-centered, strength and asset-based approach to service delivery. The Contract for the Service includes the Support charges, the Council set the support rates/bandings based on level of assessed need and then may (but no obligation to) apply an uplift following each year's annual fee review process.
Options: Option to extend for 12 months from 1st April 2027 to 31st March 2028 and the option to extend for a further 12 months from 1st April 2028 to 31st March 2029.
Renewal: The Contract term will be from 1st April 2024 to 31st March 2027 with an additional option to extend by up to 12months - 1st April 2027 up to 31st March 2028 and 1st April 2028 up to 31st March 2029. In the event the Agreement is extended the extension shall be on the same Terms and Conditions of Contract as the original Agreement period and will ultimately be at the Authority's sole discretion
