Notice Description
Purpose: The overarching purpose of the service is to provide Children and Young People (CYP) with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND) with opportunities to take part in social and educational and leisure activities outside their home. These opportunities will be independent of the parents and carers of the CYP with SEND which will also provide them with a break. The activities on offer will be led by service users with the provider encouraging ambition and encouraging positive risk taking. They will be culturally appropriate and meet the racial, cultural, linguistic, gender, sexual orientation and religious needs of the CYP. They will provide opportunities for new experiences, promote friendships and supportive relationships. The activities will promote inclusion and promote skills to enable CYP with SEND to participate more fully in the community. Part A: Bookable Short Activity Provision Part B: Positive Activities for Children aged 13+ Part C: Positive Activities for children 8+ years to 13 years with an Autistic Spectrum Condition

The Service is divided into 3 parts, A,B and C. These 3 parts of the service, form the Short Breaks Clubs and Activities Scheme for CYP and SEND. Part A: Bookable Short break Activity Provision The Service will deliver clubs and activities for Children and Young People ("CYP") with SEND to attend without their parents and carers. These clubs will allow children to experience leisure opportunities and socialise with other CYP. A minimum of 9630 hours of activity between April 2024 and March 2025. The Service will deliver the Short Breaks Clubs and Activities Scheme at a minimum of 6 locations with a good geographical spread across Wiltshire County. The maximum number of clubs and the frequency of clubs to be delivered is not specified but will be at least one day of activity held once monthly as a minimum. A full day will be defined as 6 hours of activity and half a day will be defined as 3 hours of activity, and shall provide a minimum of 17 sessions per year per location. Part B: Positive Activities for Children Aged 13+ The service will deliver a programme of leisure time activities which support CYP with SEND to develop personally, socially and educationally. Activities will enable CYP to learn about themselves and others, build self-confidence, support positive decision and positive risk taking and connect with their communities. The service will be available to CYP who are aged 13 years and over with SEND. The service offers a minimum of 1 activity session per week per location of delivery of at least 2 hours in duration, and at a location accessible to as many families as possible. A minimum of sessions will be delivered for 39 weeks of the the, during term time, and all sessions will be delivered in the evenings. Part C: Positive Activities for Children aged 8+ years to 13 years with an Autistic Spectrum Condition. The service will deliver a programme of leisure time activities which support CYP aged 8+ with an autistic spectrum condition to develop personally, socially and educationally. Activities will enable CYP to learn about themselves and others, build self-confidence, support positive decision and positive risk taking and connect with their communities. The service will be available for CYP who are aged 8 years and under 19 years with an Autistic Spectrum Condition. The service will deliver activity sessions in a minimum of 4 locations across Wiltshire (excluding Swindon). The service offers a minimum of 1 activity session per week per location of delivery of at least 2 hours in duration, and at a location accessible to as many families as possible. A minimum of sessions will be delivered for 39 weeks during term time, and all sessions will be delivered in the evenings.
